New Project: Hedonism Wines in London

Our project at Hedonism Wines, a boutique wine & spirits store in the heart of London’s Mayfair, is now complete.

We have undertaken a number of different installations here including a thermally-efficient facade with concealed glazing channels, ‘walk-on’ glass floor panels to provide illumination for the basement space below, and a large lay-flat roof light.

We also manufactured the large oversize bronze-framed door, which weighs in excess of half a ton.

New Project: Entrance Porch at The Gonville Hotel in Cambridge

Gonville 1

Following the successful design and installation of a fully glazed Dining Room at The Gonville Hotel in Cambridge, the client asked us to commence work on a structural glass entrance porch at the same property.

New glass feature wall at Hackney Wick Station starts to take shape

We’re excited to share these photos of our exciting new WIP project for Hackney Wick Station coming into fruition. Here is the first batch of 146 structural prefabricated glass elements for a glass feature wall being moved from FGP onto site. Only a few more to go! We will share some more photos of this project soon…

Firman Glass Projects now CHAS accredited

We are delighted to announce that Firman Glass Projects is now accredited within the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS).

CHAS is one of the founders of third party accreditation. By gaining CHAS accreditation FGP have again demonstrated their commitment to safety. This will also speed up the pre-qualification process for new projects.

Glass Pergola at Pembroke College, Cambridge

We have just added this stunning glass pergola to the Projects section.

The pergola, which was commissioned for Pembroke College, University of Cambridge, was built in our workshops in the 1990s as one piece before being transported to site on a low loader.

The team at FGP remember this project well, not least because the route from our factory in Essex to Cambridge had to be surveyed to avoid any low bridges!

New Project: Glass Façade at Hedsor Court

We have just added details to our Projects section of one of our most recent works: a glass façade at an office building, which provides a stunning window to the beautiful scenery outside, whilst maximising thermal efficiency for comfortable climate control inside.

Take a look at our Project page for more photos and information.

New Project: Dining Room at The Gonville Hotel in Cambridge

We have recently completed this fully glazed dining room at a luxury, boutique hotel in the heart of Cambridge. The project was a great success and we are currently working a new glass entrance for the same client.

Autoclave completes new FGP laminating line

Announcing our new arrival weighing an impressive 33 tonnes!

This autoclave is the final equipment needed to complete our new laminating line, capable of laminating up to 2800mm x 5000mm.

The installation of this machine was planned with precision by FGP. We needed to carry out extensive alterations to our building including raising the roof height to accommodate the machine and its foundations, as well as removing the roof on installation.

The FGP team enjoyed demonstrating our project management expertise through from design to installation at our own premises. Heavy lifting? No problem! If we can place this 33 tonne machine, we certainly won’t have an issue installing 2.5 tonne glass panels for our clients!

The whole laminating line will now be commissioned and it is planned to be up and running by the end of April.

Congratulations Steven!
